Purpose

  1. To perpetuate connections among members beyond Sunday.
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” I Corinthians 12:12
The Church is more than just weekly worship and Bible study.  The Church is the community of faith living life together, connected in Christ.

2. To provide care during major life moments.
“Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

The Church is the place people receive care during the major moments of life, such as: bereavement, illness/homebound, hospitalization, medical procedures, major material losses (i.e. house fires, natural disasters, unemployment), births, baptisms, weddings, deaths.  Care is provided from the Pastor through the Deacons and among the Congregation.

3. To promote collaboration by moving members into ministry.
“…from whom the whole body joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love.” Ephesians 4:16

The Church is where people hear and believe the Gospel, are empowered by the Holy Spirit, identify their spiritual gifts, and are equipped for the work of ministry in the Church, in the home, and in the community.  Realizing God’s work is communal, the Church is where the saints collaborate their gifts for one purpose—to build up the Body of Christ in the world.
